Freedom and power bring responsibility. That responsibility rests upon this assembly, a sovereign body representing the sovereign people of India. Before the birth of freedom, we had endured all the pains of labour and our hearts are heavy with the memory of this sorrow. Some of those pairs continue even now. Nevertheless, the past is over and it is the future that beckons us now. That future is not one of ease and resting but of incessant striving so that we may fulfil the pledges we have so often taken and the one we shall take today. (The Service of India means the service of the millions who suffer. It means the ending of poverty and ignorance. It also means the ending of disease and inequality of opportunity. The ambition of the greatest man of our generation has been to wipe every tear from every eye. That may be beyond us but as long as there are tears and suffering, so long our work and responsibility will not be over Democracy is a government of the people, for the people and by the people. (It is the moral and constitutional duty of the government or the political party in power to ensure health, education, justice, equality, liberty and food to every citizen of India irrespective of caste, creed and community.

दो व्यक्ति साथ-साथ यात्रा कर रहे थे। रास्ते में उन्हें एक सराय में ठहरने का अवसर मिला। उनमें से एक को सराय के दरवाजे पर रूपयों की एक थैली मिली। दूसरे व्यक्ति ने कहा, "इन रूपयों को बराबर-बराबर बॉट लें।" पहले व्यक्ति ने कहा, "थेली मुझे मिली है, अतः इसमें तुम्हारा कोई हिस्सा नहीं है।" इस पर दोनों झगड़ने लगे। दोनों को झगड़ा करते देख पुलिस वहीं आ गई और थेली वाले व्यक्ति को अपने साथ थाने ले गई। तब उस व्यक्ति ने अपने साथी से अपने साथ थाने चलने का निवदेन किया। इस पर उसके मित्र ने कहा, "यदि इस थैली में मेरा हिस्सा नहीं है, तो मैं थाने क्यों चलूँ" इतना कहकर वह अपने नगर की ओर चला गया।
Ans.Two people were travelling together. On the way, they got an opportunity to stay at an inn. One of them found a bag of money at the door of the inn. The second person said, "Divide this money equally." The first person said, "I got the bag, so you have no share in it." On this, both of them started quarreling. Seeing both of them fighting, the police came there and took the person with the bag with them to the police station. Then that person requested his friend to come with him to the police station. On this, his friend said, "If I have no share in this bag, then why should I go to the police station?" Saying this, he went towards his city.

In this poem, Pablo Neruda has emphasised the importance of introspection. Man has become very selfish and his own actions cause him many miseries. The world today stands divided by the man-made boundaries of caste, creed, race, religion, language, culture, nationality and geographicail divisions. We need to rise above these small issues and look at the larger picture. The poet talks about the necessity of creating a feeling of mutual understanding among human beings and discusses the need of maintaining peace.

Ans - In The Enemy, Dr. Sadao helped the American soldier escape by providing him with a boat, food, and a flashlight. Dr. Sadao also gave the soldier instructions on how to get to safety.
