Q2. (ii) Summary of the above passage (5 marks ke liye)

Title: Evolution of Justice System in Britain

Summary: - In early societies, the accused was given a chance to prove innocence by cruel methods like holding red hot iron or walking on burning coals. In Saxon age, innocence was proved by oath-helpers - a noble or priest counted for many peasants, and since villages were small and people were religious, truth generally came out. In 11th century, Normans introduced trial by battle where accused and accuser fought till death. It was believed God would help the innocent win, but later rich people hired professional fighters, which was unfair. This is similar to today where a rich person can hire a costly barrister. In early middle ages crime was simple like theft and murder, but with growth of towns and commerce, cheating and fraud increased, making society more complex and wicked. Without police, informers were rewarded to catch criminals.

Q3. Essay (200 words) - 3 Topics diye hain

(a) Sports and Students

(b) An Election Scene

(c) Environment and Development

Essay - Sports and Students

Sports and Students are closely related. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. Sports make students physically fit, mentally alert and morally strong. They teach discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.

In today's age of competition, students are under stress. Sports remove their stress and refresh them. Regular sports improve blood circulation and concentration in studies. Students who play sports are more punctual and hardworking.

Games like cricket, football, hockey teach how to work together and how to accept defeat. A true sportsman never loses heart. India's young players like Virat Kohli and Neeraj Chopra inspire students.

But excess of sports is also harmful. Students should maintain a balance between sports and studies. Only bookworms cannot succeed in life. Schools should make sports compulsory. Every student must play at least one game daily for one hour.
