1. शिक्षक दिवस भारत के द्वितीय राष्ट्रपति डॉक्टर सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन के जन्म दिवस के रूप में माना जाता है
2.इनका जन्म 5 सितम्बर 1888 ई. को हुआ था
3.अध्यापन पेशे के प्रति उनके प्यार और लगाव के कारण उनके जन्मदिवस पर पूरे भारत में शिक्षक दिवस मनाया जाता है
4.शिक्षक दिवस शिक्षको के सम्मान में मनाया जाता है
5.भारत में शिक्षको के सम्मान मे सन 1962 से प्रत्येक वर्ष 5 सितंबर को शिक्षक दिवस मनाया जाता है।
6.डा० सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन पहले उपराष्ट्रपति तथा दूसरे राष्ट्रपति थे
7.महान शिक्षक के रूप मे इनके योग दान के लिए इन्हें 1954 में भारत रत्न प्राप्त हुआ था।
